About

I chose this forum as a means to document my affinity for craft beer and my journey to learn as much as I can to brew the best beer possible at home.  My intro to craft beer came from a good friend of mine. I can remember heading to the local liquor store, walking past cases of typical commercial beer and straight to the fridge with nothing but shelves of 22’s to choose from.

In the beginning, I paid close attention to labels rather than ingredients, styles or specific breweries.  Over time, I have come to appreciate the intricacies of brewing and I am hopeful that this forum will prove to be a place to share my experiences with learning to brew while living in one of the best craft beer cities on the planet, San Diego.

Do you have plans for your brewing sculpture that you would be willing to share?

I think he means plans for the actual structure- how to build it? I would be interested as well. Bookmarking your site- well done. Are you in San Diego?

    • Yes, I am in San Diego. The sculpture is from More Beer. It would more than likely be a tragedy if I made any attempts to build it. It took me 3-4 brew sessions to work out the kinks, but now that I have it dialed in, it so much fun to brew on. My only plans at this time would be to upgrade some of the electronics (temp control and float switch) to get the system a little more automated. Also, upgrading to 20 gallon vessels is a nice goal of mine, but that would mean another pretty hefty investment.
